Women’s Cross Country Places Fourth At MASCAC Championships

Goba earns MASCAC All-Conference accolades, placing fourth overall with a time of 20:02.75

Devens, MA – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team placed fourth overall at the 2023 MASCAC Championships with a total of 131 points, hosted by Worcester State at Willard Park this afternoon.

How It Happened

Sophomore Skye Goba (Norton, MA) paced the Falcons, finishing fourth overall with a time of 20:02.75 over the 5K course, while freshman Alexis Toste (Dracut, MA) crossed the finish line in 25th place with a time of 23:54.53

Senior Erin Donelan (Fitchburg, MA) was next into the chute for the Green and Gold with a 49th place time of 28:43.95, while senior Stephanie Piar (Ayer, MA) registered a time of 29:52.08 (54th). Sophomore Cassie Israelson (Saugus, MA) followed in 55th place with a time of 29:54.65, while classmate Shamya Boulware McKnight (Hartford, CT) (65th) rounded out the top Falcon efforts on the day with a time of 36:31.34.

Inside the Numbers

Westfield State won the 2023 MASCAC Championship with a total of 34 points

Naomi Cass of Bridgewater State won the 2023 MASCAC  individual championship, placing first with a time of 19:10.88
