Amaral Tabbed MASCAC and ECAC DIII NE Runner of the Week
Tewksbury, Mass. native earns third weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Junior Brian Amaral was selected both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) DIII NE Corvias Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced by the conference offices this week.
The third-year Falcon earns his third weekly accolade of the season after leading the Green and Gold to a first place finish at the 2016 Keene State College Cross Country Invitational as Amaral placed second overall with a time of 25:46.7 over the five-mile layout.
The Fitchburg State men's cross country team returns to action next Saturday as select members complete in 2016 All New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston at 10:30 a.m., while the rest of the team will race at the 2016 James Early Invitational, hosted by Westfield State at 10:30 a.m.
