Fitchburg State Soars At Saints Invitational

Amaral and Darrigo guide Falcons to fourth place finish

BOSTON, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's cross country team was in action this afternoon, placing fourth overall with a total of 132 points at the 11th annual Saints Invitational, hosted by Emmanuel College at Franklin Park in Boston.

Junior Brian Amaral continued his stellar season, placing fourth overall with time of 26:14 over the 8K course, while sophomore Anthony Darrigo followed in 12th place, posting a solid time of 26:43 for the Falcons.

Senior Matthew Cuomo was next, crossing the finish line at 27:38, while classmate Michael Martin notched a time of 28:40. Senior Joseph Little registered a time of 29:04, while junior Mark Tonelli (29:37) and newcomer Jacob Dostal (32:20) closed out the top Falcon efforts on the day.

The Fitchburg State men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, October 29th as it hosts the 2016 MASCAC Men's Cross Country Championship Meet at the Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster at 11 a.m.
