Thirty-eight percent of the Falcons student athletes were recognized on the Academic Honor Roll by achieving a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA) during the fall semester. An incredible twenty-nine percent of the student athletes were also named to the Dean's List with a minimum 3.2 GPA, while one student-athlete earned President's List honors with 3.75 GPA or higher.

Wayne Bonkowski (Onsted, Mich./Boston Jr. Blackhawks), senior defensemen for the Fitchburg State ice hockey team, collected the lone President's List honor, after posting a 3.75 GPA or higher for three straight terms. Bonkowski has been a four-year member for the Falcons defensive line, appearing in 95 career games, while totaling 23 points on four goals and 19 assists.

"Wayne has been a young man who has great leadership skills on and off the ice," said head ice hockey coach Dean Fuller. "He has been a terrific captain whose presence is felt on the ice, in the locker room, and in the community."
