Three Teams Set To Open Post-Season Play On Tuesday
Field Hockey, Men's Soccer & Women's Soccer start playoff run
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University field hockey team, men's soccer team and women's soccer teams will start their run towards a potential bid into the NCAA Division III National Championship tournament in their respective sports on Tuesday.
The Fitchburg State University field hockey team finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 10-9 and a 7-5 clip within Little East Conference play to earn the sixth seed into the 2018 LEC Field Hockey post-season tournament and will travel to the third seeded Huskies of the University of Southern Maine for a contest starting at 4:00 PM. The Fitchburg State men's soccer team captured the sixth seed in the 2018 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer post-season tournament after concluding the season with an overall record of 5-10-1 and a 2-5 mark within conference play and will visit third seed Salem State University on Tuesday for a contest starting at 7:00 PM. The Fitchburg State women's soccer team finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 3-11-1 and a 2-5 mark in conference play en-route to the sixth seed in the upcoming 2018 MASCAC Women's Soccer post-season tournament and will travel to Westfield State on Tuesday to take on the third seeded Owls for a contest starting at 7:00 PM.
