Fitchburg State Holds Seventh Annual NCAHS Induction Ceremony

25 Student-Athletes honored at seventh annual induction ceremony

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State University held its seventh annual National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society (NCAHS) induction ceremony on Monday, with 25 student-athletes being recognized for their academic achievements.

The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. on May 17, 1996, as a student-athlete honor society for the recognition of high academic achievers and sport letter-winners at the collegiate level.

There are 269 chapters of the NCAHS, Chi Alpha Sigma across the country with Fitchburg State University designated as the Sigma Chapter of the Chi Alpha Sigma.

This year's Fitchburg State inductees were Emma Campbell (softball), Allissa Carroll (women's track), Brandon DiGregorio (men's cross country), Melony Ellis (women's cross country/track), Micalea Goldenberg (women's soccer), Sarah Hemmings (women's soccer), Nicole Kopacz (women's lacrosse), Madeline Kuntz (women's soccer), McKenzie Lambert (softball), Sophia Laperle (field hockey), Kelly McCusker-Brown (women's track), Jacob Movsessian (men's cross country/track), Stephen Nagle (men's soccer), Kathryn Newcomb (women's volleyball), Brittny Peralta (women's soccer), Matthew Pingitore (baseball), Madison Podedworny (women's track), Kevin Ritz (football), Timothy Sheehy (men's cross country/track), Cody Soderlund (men's cross country/track), Joshua Suboyu (ice hockey), Emma Thomson (women's basketball), Aidan Ward (baseball), Dean Zerby (ice hockey) and Omar Santiago-Rodriguez (men's soccer).

Fitchburg State members of the National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society will be wearing unique cords during the undergraduate graduation ceremony in recognition of their recent induction into the NCAHS.
