Fitchburg State Holds Ninth Annual NCAHS Induction Ceremony
34 Student-Athletes honored at the ninth annual induction ceremony
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State University held its eighth annual National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society (NCAHS) induction ceremony on Monday, with 34 student-athletes being recognized for their academic achievements.
The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. on May 17, 1996, as a student-athlete honor society for the recognition of high academic achievers and sport letter-winners at the collegiate level.
Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes undergraduate college student-athletes who participate in a sport at the varsity intercollegiate level, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full-time semester and earn a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade point average.
There are 269 chapters of the NCAHS, Chi Alpha Sigma across the country with Fitchburg State University designated as the Sigma Chapter of the Chi Alpha Sigma.
This year's Fitchburg State inductees were Cameron Davis (men's cross country/track & field), Nathaniel Felix (men's cross country/track & field), Benjamin Sacramone (men's cross country/track & field), Ryan Parisi (men's track & field), Sarah Cahill (softball), Madison Mantegani (softball), Dana Cisowski (softball), Mary Kate Moreau (softball),Courtney Brouillet (women's cross country/track & field), Sophie Geremia (women's cross country/track & field), Olivia Kephart (women's track & field), Makany Camara (women's track & field), Erin Donelan (women's cross country/track & field), Cali Laakso (women's lacrosse), Brooke Williams (women's lacrosse), K. Wyatt Wilmshurst (ice hockey), Joshua Miller (ice hockey), Gene Bouthiette (ice hockey), Rece Bergeman (ice hockey), Cole Archambeault (ice hockey), Lena Spadafore (field hockey), Sophia Piper (field hockey), Jessica Morse (field hockey), Jenna Morse (field hockey), Emma Ganley (field hockey), Dayne Allen (men's basketball), Malcolm Kinder (baseball), Alissa Olmsted (volleyball), Emily Gelinas (volleyball), Kayleen Mccormack (women's soccer), Taylor Rodriguez (women's soccer), Amzie Hinkley (football), Francesco Campione (men's soccer), and Brian Doyle (men's soccer).
Fitchburg State members of the National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society will be wearing unique cords during the undergraduate graduation ceremony in recognition of their recent induction into the NCAHS.
