Marty Raynor - 2000 Inductee

Marty Raynor enjoyed three years of success on the basketball courts for FSC, after transferring from Nichols College. While attending FSC, Raynor was able to fit basketball into his busy lifestyle while both attending school and working full-time. During his sophomore year of 1983-84, Raynor compiled 14.9 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game while playing in every game of the 14-12 campaign. The center had a .541 field goal percentage to go along with his .704 percentage from the charity stripe.

In Raynor's junior campaign, FSC finished 16-11 on the year, tying Westfield State for the MASCAC Championship before losing a tie-breaking game at the buzzer in heartbreaking fashion. Raynor led the team with 20 PPG and 8.5 RPG while playing in all 27 games for the Green and Gold. An All-MASCAC First Team performer, Raynor was a two-time member of the ECAC Weekly Honor Roll, and named MVP of both the Vassar College Tournament and the Worcester Basketball Writers Team.

In finalizing his career, Raynor helped lead FSC to their first 20-win season in history (20-7). His MASCAC-leading 23.6 PPG earned him All-MASCAC First Team honors, as well as ECAC All-Star Status. Raynor, who led the team for the second consecutive year in RPG (9.6), was also named a National Association of Basketball Coaches New England Division III All-Star on the season. Furthermore, in addition to being named ECAC Player of the Week on December 12, 1985, Raynor was once again named the MVP of the Worcester Basketball Writers Team.
