Wendy Gagliani - 2001 Inductee

This nursing major was a four-time All-American in track and field and a 15-time All-New England choice during her four-year tenure. In addition to her track and field exploits, Gagliani ranks in the top five in many FSC field hockey career scoring categories. Her freshman year featured being the fourth-leading scorer on the field hockey team (three goals, three assists, nine points), as well as performing on the track for coach Jim Jellison's MASCAC Champions during the outdoor season. As a sophomore, Gagliani's 14 points (five goals, four assists) helped the Falcons to the MASCAC field hockey title. Also, she was named All-New England and All-ECAC in the indoor track pentathlon. Highlights in her outdoor track season included being named All-ECAC and All-New England in the heptathlon (school-record 3,859 points), and finishing in 10th place in the NCAA Championships in the 400m hurdles.

Gagliani's junior year began by being named First Team All-MASCAC in field hockey, with her 13-point total (five goals, three assists) helping her to garner Team MVP accolades as well. The indoor track season saw her win both the ECAC and New England Division III high jump Championships, while provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championship in the 55m hurdles. In the spring, Gagliani earned the first of four NCAA All-American honors when she finished third in the heptathlon (school-record 4,422 points) while also being named to the All-East Track and Field Team. She won seven events at the MASCAC Championship (100m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, long jump, high jump, triple jump, 4x100m relay). To conclude her illustrious career, Gagliani once again earned All-MASCAC First Team and Team MVP honors in field hockey (12 goals, six assists, 30 points). She obtained two NCAA All-American honors in indoor track (400m, 55m hurdles), while also winning the New England Division III 55m hurdles and high jump. Winning five events at the team's sixth-straight MASCAC Outdoor Championship in the spring, Gagliani broke her own school record in the heptathlon (4,625 points) while earning her last NCAA All-American honors.
