FALCONS END SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE
Fitchburg, Mass. - The Fitchburg State College Baseball team defeated MIT, 5-3, Tuesday afternoon at Elliot Field behind Keith Weagle's (Oxford, MA) complete game victory.
The Engineers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Steven Nunez (Tularem CA). The lead was short-lived though as Andrew Sauer (Willington, CT) led off the bottom half of the inning with a solo homerun to right field to knot the game at 1-1.

MIT cut the deficit to 4-3 in the top of the eighth on an RBI double by Ryne Barry (Phoenix, AZ) and a fielding error. Fitchburg State would add an insurance run in the bottom half of the eighth on an RBI double by Matt Slattery (Gardner, MA) to make the score 5-3.
