Fitchburg State Baseball Raises Money For March Of Dimes

Falcons lift team ‘Courageous Cam’ to nearly $2700 towards March of Dimes program

FITCHBURG, Mass. (April 25, 2014) – The Fitchburg State baseball team hosted a charitable fundraiser this past week at all its home games, raising nearly $300 for the March of Dimes program.

The March of Dimes Program is a program focused on improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Each year, 13 million babies are born prematurely worldwide and programs like the March of Dimes are constantly working towards life-saving research that helps mothers complete full-term pregnancies.

With the help of local business partner, SuperFans Deli & Pizzeria (356 Main St. Fitchburg, MA), the Fitchburg State baseball team opened a concession stand at all its home games in its effort to help support team ‘Courageous Cam’. Through donations and concessions sales, team ‘Courageous Cam’ was able to raise nearly $2700 towards on going research for the March of Dimes program.

To help support the March of Dimes program and team “Courageous Cam,” please visit http://www.marchforbabies.org/personal_page.asp?pp=4571056&ct=4&w=6364417&u=JBrouillard. Donations will be accepted through April 26th.

Through donations like yours, the March of Dimes has been able to discover the genetic causes of birth defects, has been able to promote newborn screening, and has educated medical professionals and the public about best practices for healthy pregnancy. As 1 in 9 babies throughout the United States are born prematurely, your gift today will go a long way in ensuring all babies begin healthy lives.
