Kyle Cutler Signs with Worcester Bravehearts

Clinton, Mass. native inks contract with the Worcester Bravehearts

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore pitcher Kyle Cutler recently signed a contract with the Worcester Bravehearts of the Future Collegiate Baseball League of New England (FCBL).

The second-year Falcon appeared in six contest for the Green and Gold this past season, posting a team-best 1.09 earned run average (ERA) with a 4-2 record as well as a team-best 41 strikeouts in 41.1 innings of work. For his efforts Cutler collected first team All-MASCAC (Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference honors along with being named to the Worcester Area Baseball All-Star first team.

The FCBL is summer collegiate baseball league throughout the New England region and made up of student-athletes from across all three divisions in NCAA.

The league plays a 56 game (28 home & 28 away), nine-week schedule concluding in early August. The League Championship is determined by a playoff immediately after the season ends. Each year their top players are scouted with some of the players selected in the MLB Draft.

The Fitchburg State baseball team recently concluded the 2015 season with an overall record of 12-19 and a 5-9 mark in conference play on the way to capturing the sixth seed in the MASCAC baseball post-season tournament.
