Meleedy Named as MASCAC Rookie of the Week

WESTFIELD, Mass. -  Fitchburg State freshman pitcher Evan Meleedy (Lakeville, Mass.) has been named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Rookie of the Week for the period ending on April 24, 2016.

Meleedy threw a complete game shutout in the Falcons' 2-0 win over Bridgewater State on April 18th, allowing only two hits, with no walks and seven strikeouts in the win.

For the season, Meleedy has a 2-2 record in eight games started. The Falcons are currently 14-16 overall, 7-3 in league play, and have clinched a spot in next week's MASCAC post-season tournament.
