Cordeau Named MASCAC Baseball Player Of The Week

Melrose, Mass. native earns first weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore outfielder Nicholas Cordeau (Melrose, Mass.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The second-year Falcon batted .538 (7-for-13) with a double, a triple, one homerun, six RBI, four runs scored and two stolen bases in a 3-0 week for the Green and Gold. Cordeau went 3-of-5 with a triple, two runs scored, one RBI and two steals in a 9-2 triumph over Fontbonne on Saturday before adding four hits, including a double, home run, two runs scored and five RBI in a double header sweep over Becker on Sunday evening.

The Fitchburg State baseball team (5-2) returns to action on Thursday as it takes on Cornell College in day four action of its annual spring trip to Florida for a contest starting at 4:30 PM.
