Cordeau Claims NEIBA/ABCA All-New England Region Honors

Melrose, Mass.  native selected to NEIBA All-New England Third Team 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore Nicholas Cordeau (Melrose, Mass.) was recently selected to the 2019 New England Intercollegiate Baseball/American Baseball Coaches Association All-New England Regional Third Team as announced by the NEIBA and ABCA/Rawlings on Tuesday afternoon.

Cordeau witnessed a stellar sophomore season, leading the team in several offensive categories, including hits (59), runs scored (46), RBI (41), triples (4), home runs (8) and stolen bases (19), while finishing in tie for the team lead in double with eight.

In addition, Nicholas broke the Falcons single season records for hits and total bases (99) as well as tying the program record for most home runs in a season. For his efforts, the sophomore outfielder was also named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference First Team.

The Fitchburg State Baseball team recently concluded its 2019 season with an overall record of 26-16 and a 13-8 mark in conference play, en-route to claiming the second seed in the MASCAC Baseball post-season tournament.
