Northboro, Mass. - The Fitchburg State University baseball team dropped a 9-3 decision to the Amcats of Anna Maria College this afternoon in non-conference action from the New England Baseball Complex.

How It Happened

Game One

Anna Maria raced out to an early 6-0 advantage in the bottom of the first frame as junior Elijah Spataj (Cheshire, Conn.) tallied a two-run double, while classmate James Powers (Folsom, Calif.) graduate student Noah Holland (Sandwich, Mass.), sophomore Luke Halunen (Carver, Mass.) and grad student Hunter Dunithan (Reno, Nev.) added RBI's as well.

Fitchburg State cut the lead to 6-1 in the top of the fourth when graduate student Connor Morehouse (Wetherby Lake, Mo.) launched his second home run of the season over the left field fence.

Trailing 9-1 going into the ninth, the Falcons responded with sophomore Devin Lorae (Canton, Ga.) singled and moved to second on a walk from junior Jaime Velez (Lowell, Mass.) before senior Vincent Eramo (Shirley, Mass.) laced a two-run double to left, but that's as close as the Green and Gold would get, resulting in the 9-3 final.
