Hartnett Named MASCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

North Attleboro, Mass. native earns first weekly accolade 

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore Joseph Hartnett (North Attleboro, Mass.) was selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The second-year Falcon collects his first weekly honor on the season after posting an ERA of 0.00, allowing just two hits and striking out 16 over 8.1 innings pitched over two appearances for the Green and Gold.

Hartnett allowed no hits with six K's over 3.1 innings of work in a no decision in the Falcons 11-9 triumph over Worcester State on Tuesday before giving up just two hits, while striking out ten in five innings pitched to earn the win in a 2-0, game two victory against Bridgewater State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Baseball Team (14-14, 5-8 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as they host the Lancers of Worcester State for a MASCAC twin bill, starting at 2:00PM.
