Miller Collects Offensive Player Of The Week Honors

East Hampton, N.Y. native earns first conference nomination

FITCHBURG, Mass. (October 20, 2008) - Fitchburg State senior quarterback Jim Miller (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) was named the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Offensive Player of the Week as selected by conference officials. The nomination is Miller's first Player of the Week honor this season.

Miller led Fitchburg State to its second consecutive victory, defeating Worcester State College, 42-28 in a key NEFC match-up. Miller was very efficient with his passing, going 13-for-18 with 226 yards and three TD passes. The veteran leader totaled 273 yards of total offense with four scores on the day.

Fitchburg State has moved into first place in the Bogan Division led by the prominent play of Miller. This season, Miller has tossed for a league best 18 touchdowns while leading the NEFC's top-passing offense with 1855 yards in the air and 98 yards on the ground. The Falcons rank second overall in the NEFC for total offense with 3179 yards (454.1/g) and 30 TD's.

Fitchburg State (3-4, 3-1 NEFC) will be back in action on Saturday as it travels to Mass-Maritime Academy at 2 p.m.
