TEC MONTERRY, MEXICO - (December 16, 2009) - Fitchburg State senior running back Steve Austin (Tequesta, Fla./Stony Brook) will be in action this weekend as he joins Team Stars & Stripes in a clash vs. the Tec Monterrey All-Stars at the Tazon de Estrellas in Mexcio City. The game will air live via a webcast on GlobalFootball.com at 1pm (U.S.) Eastern Time on Saturday, December 19.

A panish-language broadcast will be
available from the Tec de Monterrey Campus Estado de Mexico through
technology developed and made available by Cambridge,
Massachusetts-based YouCastr and will provide all the action to a
Global American football audience for a viewing fee of $5.
Fans can access the game through the home page of www.GlobalFootball.com.
"We were eager to offer families and friends of players taking part
in the game an opportunity to watch online and YouCastr Pro was
able to make that possible," said Global Football President and
Team Stars & Stripes General Manager Patrick Steenberge.
"I hope fans of the sport who are intrigued to see these college
football all-stars play what for many will be their last-ever game
of football against a strong Mexican team will tune in to
watch."
Through the easy-to-use broadcasting platform YouCastr Pro, the
game will be automatically archived and available indefinitely for
future on-demand viewing. The service is essentially a plug
and play solution that is safe for schools. Safety features
include making content available from only the sites approved by
Global Football with no advertisements.
Austin is one 52 NCAA DIII players that have traveled to Mexico to
take on the Tec Monterrey All-Stars in the 2009 Tazón de
Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars), with 35 colleges from 20 states now
represented on the Team Stars & Stripes roster under head coach
Bill Manlove. The home team Tec All-Stars 70-man roster will
be led by legendary coach Frank Gonzalez, who has won 11 national
championships, 3 national conference championships and 1 Borregos
Tournament championships for a total of 15 titles, has a combined
record of 212-38-1 in a 24-year career with Campus Monterrey.
Austin enjoyed a successful 2009 season for the Falcons, totaling 839 yards on the ground. The senior captain averaged nearly 100 yards per game with 4.6 yards per carry and five touchdowns.
