Falcons Announce Captains For 2010 Season

Senior Logan Johnson (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg), junior Jeremy Kimber (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) and classmate Will Gasson (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield)were named tri-captains of the 2010 Fitchburg State Football team this past week. The trio brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the Falcons squad, combining for over 29 games played both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Johnson, a New England Football Conference (NEFC) All-Conference candidate, has anchored the Falcons offensive line for the past two seasons, while Kimber has proven to be an offensive triple-threat for the Falcons. Last season, Kimber gained served a primary role as a wide receiver (32 receptions, 381 yards, 2 TDs), but also saw action behind center, completing 5-of-14 passes for 104 yards and one rushing touchdown.

Gasson has also been a bright spot for the Fitchburg State defense, securing the starting line-backer role in just his second season of play. During the 2009 season, Gasson ranked third of the Falcons squad with 68 total tackles (40 solo, 28 assists), while adding 9.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and one interception.

For the second straight year, Fitchburg State wrapped up the regular season with a 4-6 record overall and a 2-5 mark in the highly competitive New England Football Conference.
