Bizzotto Named To 2011 BSN Division III All-American Team

Leominster, Mass. native collects DIII All-American third team accolade

FITCHBURG, Mass. (January 5, 2012) – Senior Anthony Bizzotto (Leominster, Mass./Leominster) was recently named to the 2011 BSN College Network Division III All-American third team as announced by Dan Evans, Chief Operating Officer at Beyond Sports Network (BSN), LLC.

Bizzotto earns his first career All-American honor after witnessing a breakout senior season in which he led the Falcons and the New England Football Conference (NEFC) with 106 total tackles. The senior line-backer notched 63 solo stops and 43 assists this past season, averaging nearly 12.0 tackles per game.

In addition to his All-American honor, Bizzotto also received three other post-season awards, including a roster selection for Team Stars & Stripes in the 2011 Tazón de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars). The senior leader joined a list of 49 players, spanning over 27 colleges and more than 18 states to compete against the Mexico All-Star team in Puebla, Mexico

Capping a three-year career with an NEFC All-Conference first team honor and Worcester All-Area first team accolade, Bizzotto completed his three-year tenure at Fitchburg State, amassing 286 career tackles. Of his 286 stops, Bizzotto totaled 170 solo efforts with nine sacks, 26.5 TFL’s, five fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles and his first career interception during the 2011 season.
