TEAM STARS & STRIPES ROSTER ANNOUNCED FOR TAZON DE ESTRELLAS IN MEXICO

Bizzotto selected to play in Bowl of the Stars contest in Puebla, December 17th 

FITCHBURG, Mass. (November 18, 2011) - Senior linebacker Anthony Bizzotto (Leominster, Mass./Leominster), a New England Football Conference (NEFC) All-Conference first team honoree, was named to the Team Stars & Stripes roster for the 2011 Tazón de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars) on Saturday, December 17th at the 5,000-seat El Tempo del Dolor (The Temple of Pain) in Puebla, Mexico.

Team Stars & Stripes, led by head coach Bill Manlove, has selected a provisional roster of 49 players, spanning over 27 colleges and more than 18 states. Bizzotto proves to be a vital force to Team Stars & Stripes line-backing core after enjoying a successful senior season with a league best 106 tackles with 63 solo stops and 43 assists. The senior leader averaged 11.8 tackles per game, which was 1.8 more tackles per game than any other player in the conference.

The 2011 edition of Team Stars & Stripes will arrive in Puebla on Sunday, December 11 and after two-a-day practices on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, will have an opportunity to mix lighter practices with an opportunity to explore the local region. Last year Team Stars and Stripes triumphed 48-7 in Toluca, having suffered a 24-12 loss to the Tec Monterrey All-Stars in the first Tazón de Estrellas in 2009. 

Representing Team Stars & Stripes will be players from: Amherst College, Augustana, California Lutheran University, Castleton State, Central, Centre College, Claremont-Mudd-Scripts Colleges, Cornell College, Dickinson College, Fitchburg State University, Grinnell, Grove City College, Hanover College, John Carroll University, Loras, Ohio Northern University, Rockford College, Rose-Hulman Institute, Simpson College, St. Vincent College, Susquehanna University, Thomas More College, Trinity University, UW/Stevens Point, Wartburg College, Willamette University and Wooster.
