Four Falcons Named To NEFC Bogan All-Division Team

All four Falcons collect All-Division second team honors

FITCHBURG, Mass. (November 8, 2012) – The Fitchburg State football team collected four post-season honors as the New England Football Conference released its All-Division teams this afternoon.

Sophomore Steph’fon Teague (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) and senior Bob Booth (Cranston, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) led the Falcon offensive award winners with All-Division second team nods, while sophomore Brian McDonald (Westwood, Mass./Hebron Academy) and junior Alex Alcala (Leominster, Mass./Leominster) earned second team special teams and defensive honors.

In the backfield, Teague led the Fitchburg State rushing attack, totaling 948 yards and six touchdowns, while averaging 4.6 yards per carry. Booth paved the way for Teague at the guard position after transition to the offensive side of the ball midway through the season, while McDonald put forth a strong punting effort, averaging 36.8 yards per punt with 12 punts ending inside the 20 yard line. Alcala sparked the Falcons defense, ranking second on the team with 80 stops, including 59 solo efforts and 21 assists.  

The Fitchburg State football team concluded its 2012 campaign with an overall record of 2-8 and a 1-7 mark in the NEFC Bogan Division.
