Falcons Make it Three in a Row for MASCAC Play of the Week
WESTFIELD, Mass. - For the third straight time this season, Fitchburg State has earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Fan Play of the Week top spot.
The Falcons finished in first with an astounding 71 percent of the vote. Joining Fitchburg State are the other nominees from Bridgewater State, Framingham State and Worcester State who all had solid plays from their contests over the weekend.
Down by three with the clock winding down in the third quarter, Falcons' defensive back Eli Torres intercepted a pass from Bridgewater State's Danny Higgins and ran it in 29 yards for the touchdown and eventual game-winning score.
The Green and Gold will be back in action at Elliot Field on Saturday as they host Mass. Maritime at 1:30 pm.
