Summiel Named To D3Football.com All-East Region Team
Tewksbury, Mass. native collects second national accolade
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior tight end Devin Summiel was recently named to the 2015 D3 Football.com All-East Region Third Team, presented by Stagg Bowl XLIII as announced by D3football.com Executive Editor Pat Coleman on Monday afternoon.
The second-year Falcon earns his second national honor of the season after hauling in 53 passes for a team-leading 756 receiving yards and a new Fitchburg State single season record of 12 touchdown receptions.
The 2015 D3football.com All-Region teams are presented by Stagg Bowl XLIII, to be played on Friday, December 18th in Salem, Virginia. Tickets are on sale now for Stagg Bowl XLIII at Ticketmaster and the Salem Civic Center. Call 540-375-3004 or purchase online through ticket master.
The teams, selected in balloting by East Region sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 310 nominations by Division III member schools. A total of 73 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considers for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of December, 18th in D3football.com's pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLIII.
The Fitchburg State football team concluded its 2015 season with an overall record of 8-3 and a 6-2 mark with conference play.
