FITCHBURG, Mass. - Fitchburg State senior defensive back Taron Seaforth-Howard was selected to participate for team USA in the second World University Football Championship in Monterrey, Mexico from June 1, 2016 through June 11, 2016.

The senior defensive back earned his fifth post-season accolade of the season after collecting 33 total tackles, including 28 solo stops, five assists tackles, one sack, one fumble recovered, six passes defended and a team-best four interceptions during the 2015 campaign..

USA joins Mexico, and China in the list of teams that will be competing for the championship with Mexico claiming the first championship held in Uppsala, Sweden in 2014, so this begins heating the competition that is expected to be an epic championship with the Americans taking part for the first time.

The Fitchburg State football team concluded the 2015 season with an overall record of 8-3 and a 6-2 clip in the MASCAC.
