Neal and Easter Selected to play for Team USA

FITCHBURG, Mass. - Fitchburg State senior wide out Trayvon Neal and fellow senior defensive back Asante Easter were both recently selected to play for team USA in the second World University Football Championship in Monterrey, Mexico from June 1, 2016 through June 11, 2016.

Neal concluded the 2015 season with 18 receptions for 230 yards and three touchdowns for the Green and Gold, while Easter ranked fifth on the team in tackles with 43 total stops, including 25 solo tackles, 18 assisted, two fumbles forced, one fumble recovered, one interception and six passes defended for the Falcons.

USA joins Mexico, and China in the list of teams that will be competing for the championship with Mexico claiming the first championship held in Uppsala, Sweden in 2014, so this begins heating the competition that is expected to be an epic championship with the Americans taking part for the first time.

The Fitchburg State football team concluded the 2015 season with an overall record of 8-3 and a 6-2 clip in the MASCAC.
