Fitzsimmons Selected MASCAC Football Rookie of the Week
Flushing, N.Y. native earns first weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman quarterback Connor Fitzsimmons was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Football Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Sunday afternoon.
Fitzsimmons collects his first weekly accolade of the year after throwing for 125 yards and three touchdowns (13 yards, 18 yards and 8 yards) on 13-of-21 passes in the Falcons 26-8 win over Westfield State on Saturday afternoon.
The Fitchburg State football team (4-4, 2-4 MASCAC) returns to action on Saturday as it travels to UMass Dartmouth to take on the Corsairs for a contest starting at 1 p.m.
