Brown-Simpson Earns ECAC DIII North Accolade

Lynn, Mass. native named to ECAC DIII North Second Team

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior linebacker Malcolm Brown-Simpson was recently selected to the 2016 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) DIII North Football second team as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. 

The senior defensive earns his second post-season honor of the season after ranking fourth on the team with 55 tackles, including 32 solo stops and 23 assisted to go along with seven TFL"s (tackles for loss), two fumbles forced, one fumble recovered, five passes broken up, one blocked kick and one interception for the Falcons during the 2016 campaign.

In addition to this national accolade, Malcolm was recently selected to the 2016 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference First Team.

In the 77 years since its inception, the ECAC has emerged as the nation's largest Conference, ranging in location from Maine to Georgia, and westerly to Missouri. In 2015-16, the ECAC hosted nearly 100 championships in men's and women's sports as the sponsors of over 5,800 varsity teams and 111,000 student-athletes. The Fitchburg State football team recently concluded the 2016 campaign with an overall record of 5-5 and a 3-5 mark within conference play.
