Rams Charge Past Football

FITCHBURG, MA: Fitchburg State football fell to Framingham State this afternoon in conference action.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/7/23

- Score: Framingham 40, Fitchburg 7

- Records: Framingham (3-2, 3-1 MASCAC), Fitchburg (0-6, 0-4 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Framingham jumped out to a quick 26-0 lead by scoring a touchdown on their first four drives. The Rams running back Devaun Ford found the endzone three times in the first half. He broke away on their first drive for a 37-yard rush. Zylas Abney tacked on the second score on an 11-yard reception from QB Elijah Nichols. Ford would then rush for the next two, with his second coming from 7 yards out and his third from 19 yards.

- The Second half started with the Rams receiving the kick. Moise Nazaire took advantage of his one return, taking it to the house from 89 yards out. That would be the only score in the third quarter.

- Framingham would find the endzone again in the fourth on another big play, this time by Joshua Ramos. He broke free through the Falcons defense on a 46-yard scamper. Fitchburg would find their way into the endzone with 8:53 left in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard touchdown reception by Elijah Zaire McKnight (Tracy, CA) from Careem Rose (Southbridge, MA), getting the final of 40-7.
