Football Upended by Corsairs
DARTMOUTH, MA: Fitchburg State football was defeated by UMass Dartmouth in MASCAC action this evening.
THE BASICS:

- Score: Dartmouth 42, Fitchburg 7
- Records: Dartmouth (7-1, 5-1 MASCAC), Fitchburg (0-8, 0-6 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Dartmouth exploded for 22 points in the first quarter. With two rushing and one passing touchdown, and a safety built them a 22-0 lead going into the second quarter. Marvens Jean scored the first on a six-yard rush. Luis Gonzalez broke into the endzone from one yard out for the second TD. After a safety, Jalyn Aponte added the third touchdown of the quarter on a 38-yard reception from quarterback Dante Aviles-Santos.
- The Corsairs added two more scores in the second to bring the score to 35-0. Thomas Zednik caught Aviles-Santos's second touchdown pass of the contest from 12 yards out. The final points in the second came on a 79-yard punt return by Angel Sanchez.
- Dartmouth would tack on one more touchdown late in the third quarter with just 3:14 left. Gonzalez would plunge his second score into the endzone from one yard out.
- The Falcons would get on the board with the only score in the fourth quarter on a 31-yard touchdown catch by Peter Norton (Marblehead, MA) from Dylan Cosner (Endicott, NY).
