Holewa Named LEC Goalkeeper Of The Week

Londonderry, N.H. native collects first weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (October 1, 2012) – Sophomore Lucy Holewa (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) was recently tabbed the Little East Conference’s (LEC) Goalkeeper of the Week as announced by the league office Monday morning.

Holewa collects her first weekly honor of the season after guiding the Fitchburg State field hockey team to a 1-1 week. In net, Lucy totaled 16 saves with a minimal 1.00 goals against average and a .929 save percentage. Holewa registered 13 stops in the Falcons 3-1 victory over Eastern Connecticut State University on Wednesday before posting three saves in Fitchburg State’s 2-1 setback to conference rival Framingham State on Saturday morning.

The Fitchburg State field hockey team will be back in action on Tuesday as it visits Westfield State University at 7 p.m.
