Field Hockey Names Six To National Academic Squad
Silva, Lawrence, Mason, Petit and Polimeni earn SGI/NFHCA DIII National Academic honors
FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State field hockey team had six members named to 2014 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) last month.
Senior Kaitlyn Silva, classmate Erin Martin, sophomores Jessica Lawrence, Hannah Mason and Emily Petit as well as freshman Emma Polimeni each earned 2014 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Individual Academic Awards for achieving a grade point average of 3.3 or high during the 2014 fall semester.
The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year.
The Fitchburg State field hockey team concluded its 2014 campaign with an overall record of 8-10 and a 3-8 mark in the LEC.
