Fletcher and Mammone combine to make seven saves for Fitchburg State 

Dartmouth, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University field hockey team dropped a tough 2-0 decision to the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth this afternoon in Little East Conference (LEC) action at Cressy Field.

How It Happened

UMass Dartmouth opened the scoring in the 16th minute of play as senior midfielder Erin Kish (Littleton, Mass.) struck for an assisted tally for her fourth score on the year to make the score 1-0

The Corsairs doubled their advantage with just over ten minutes remaining in the first half when freshman forward Alesis Keohane (North Brookfield, Mass.) collected a rebound in front of the cage and slipped a shot inside the near side for her second tally of the season, resulting in the 2-0 final.

20th meeting between the two schools in field hockey with the Falcons 6-14 when taking on the Corsairs.

Corsairs have won nine of last 11 meeting in the series with the Falcons.

UMass Dartmouth finished with a 17-4 advantage in shots, while also holding a 12-4 edge in penalty corners.

In the cage, Fitchburg State sophomores Kasey Mammone (Leominster, Mass.) and Rhiannon Fletcher (Royalston, Mass.) combined to stop seven shots for the Green and Gold.
