DeHorsey Tabbed LEC Field Hockey Defensive Player Of The Week
Leominster, Mass. native nets first weekly accolade of the season
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior forward Aislinn DeHorsey (Leominster, Mass./Leominster) was recently named Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The second-year Falcon posted four saves defensive saves, while adding seven points on two goals and three assists in a 2-1 week for the Falcons. DeHorsey collected two assists and one defensive save in a 4-3 overtime setback to WPI on Tuesday before adding one score and a pair of defensive stops in a 3-2 comeback win over Framingham State on Thursday.
Aislinn concluded the week, registering three points on one marker and one helper in addition to one defensive save in a 3-0 shutout victory against Westfield State on Friday.
The Fitchburg State field hockey team (10-9, 7-5 LEC) returns to action on Tuesday afternoon as it travels to third seeded Southern Maine to take on the Huskies in opening round action of the 2018 LEC Field Hockey post-season tournament at 4:00 PM.
