Fitchburg, Mass.- The Fitchburg State University field hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Panthers of Plymouth State University in a Little East Conference (LEC) matchup at Elliot Field.

How it Happened
The Panthers got on the board quickly when senior Jess Mezquita (Atkinson, N.H) collected a rebound off the pads of Falcons' netminder Jenna Morse (Leominster, Mass) for her first goal of the season, giving Plymouth State the early lead.
Plymouth State doubled the advantage in the second frame. Sophomore Athena Comeau (Rutland, Mass.) collected a pass from junior Emma Revaz (New Boston, NH) for her first collegiate goal.
The Green and Gold cut the deficit in half with seconds remaining in the third quarter. Sophomore Emily Riggins (Ashburnham, Mass.) threaded a pass to Emily Iacovelli (Northbridge, Mass.) for the senior's fourth goal of the season.
The Panthers added an insurance goal for the 3-1 final.
