BROOKLINE, Mass. (January 24, 2013) – The Fitchburg State men's basketball team jumped back into the win column this evening after defeating the Nighthawks of Newbury College, 75-70 in non-conference action.

Henneberry sparked the Fitchburg State run with a pair of lay-ups and the game-tying three, while Malcolm Dixon (Brooklyn, N.Y./Canarsie) also came up huge with a three pointer to bring the Falcons within two.

The Nighthawks did not go quietly however as Rosemand answered with a bucket from beyond the arc and a lay-up at 4:18 to give Newbury a 68-63 advantage. Fitchburg State responded again with buckets from Jeremy Kimber (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg), Jesus Moore (Lawrence, Mass./Lawrence) and Henneberry to gain a one point margin before Valliere added some cushion with a lay-up at the 1:23 mark. Ingram-Rubin then iced the game with a pair of free-throws down the stretch.
