Jones and Lee Claim All-Conference Honors

Two Falcons receive conference postseason honors

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASAC) released its year-end men's basketball all-conference team and junior's Givaughn Jones and Kwame Lee were selected.

Lee receives first team honors after putting together a stellar rookie season for the Green & Gold. The Brockton native averaged a team-leading 13.6 points per game in conference play, shooting 47.6% from the field in those contests. Starting in all 27 games on the year, Lee also recorded 188 rebounds, 32 blocks, and a total of 357 points.

Jones was named to the second team after averaging 12.1 points per game in league action. While starting in every game for the Falcons this year, the Dorchester native also contributed with 138 rebounds, 76 assists, and 68 assists in his rookie campaign.

Senior Michael Lofton of Bridgewater State highlighted the all-conference nominees with being named player of the year. The senior from Mansfield, Mass. finished first in the conference in points per game (18.9) and rebounds per game (10.5). Lofton also was third in the league in field goal percentage (55), fifth in total steals (38) sixth in assists (64) and seventh in blocks (28). This is the third straight year Lofton has been recognized as a MASCAC All-Conference honoree.

Drew Healy of Salem State has been recognized as the 2014-15 MASCAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Year. The freshman from Lowell, Mass. tallied 155 points in his freshman campaign while also collecting 123 rebounds, 29 blocks, 15 assists and 14 steals.
