Falcons Earn Pair Of ECAC DIII New England Honor

Bell named to ECAC DIII NE Region First Team; Manderson selected ECAC DIII NE Coach of the Year

FITCHBURG, Mass.– Fitchburg State senior guard Jaleel Bell was named to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) DIII New England Region First Team, while Fitchburg State men's basketball coach Titus Manderson earned ECAC DIII NE Coach of the Year honors as announced by the conference office on Thursday morning.

Bell, the 2x Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Year, registered a conference best 564 points as well as 205 rebounds, 60 assists, 54 steals and 13 blocks in 25 games for the Green and Gold. For his effort, Jaleel was also named to the MASCAC All-Conference First Team.

Manderson guided the Falcons to an overall of 15-11 and 10-2 mark in conference play en-route to claiming the top seed in the MASCAC Men's Basketball postseason tournament after capturing the MASCAC regular season title. For his efforts, Titus earned MASCAC Champions Choice Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season.
