Bell Collects Trio of Honors

Dorchester, Mass. native collects fourth, fifth and sixth post season accolades of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior guard Jaleel Bell was named to the D3 Hoops Men's Basketball All-Northeast Region Third Team, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Northeast second team as well as the Worcester Area College Basketball Association (WACBA) First Team as announced by the various offices this past week and half. 

Bell concluded the 2016-17 season, leading the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) with 564 points to go along with 205 rebounds, 60 assists, 54 steals and 13 blocks in 25 games for the Green and Gold.

For his effort, Jaleel was named MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year as well as being selected to the MASCAC All-Conference First Team. In addition, the second year Falcon was all named to the ECAC DIII New England All-First Team.

The Fitchburg State men's basketball team finished the 2016-17 season with an overall 15-11 and 10-2 mark in conference play en-route to claiming the top seed in the MASCAC Men's Basketball postseason tournament after capturing the MASCAC regular season title.
