
Saints Fly by Falcons in Men’s Basketball
Boston, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's basketball team fell 67-59 to the Saints of Emmanuel College in non-conference action at the Andy Yosinoff Court.

How It Happened
Emmanuel opened the contest with a 10-4 lead, capped by an Eljay Morris (London, England) jumper before Fitchburg State was able to knot the score at 10-10 on a lay-up from sophomore Kerns Monvilus (Coral Springs, Fla.). The Saints grabbed a 17-12 edge as Devin Pulsifer (Winthrop, Mass.) connected on a three-point shot and would extend the lead to 22-14 with a lay-up from Kendrick Jean-Francois (Lynn, Mass.).
The Green and Gold chipped away at the lead (22-18) with a jumper from senior Dominik Williams (Newark, NJ) and a lay-in from sophomore Javon Taylor (Cambridge, Mass.). With a minute left junior Bryan Tyrie (Hanson, Mass.) would hit a bucket and sophomore Quincy Taylor (Boston, Mass.) would hit a pair from the charity stripe to keep it a four-point deficit (31-27) headed into intermission.
Following intermission, Falcons' junior Darian Norwood (San Diego, Calif.) would hit a jumper at 17:32 to make the score 35-34 Emmanuel. The hosts would hit five straight to once again extend the lead (40-34). Fitchburg State countered with a 11-4 run, highlighted by four points from Norwood to trail 45-44. However, over the next five minutes Emmanuel responded with a 10-1 run to regain a comfortable lead at 55-45 with eight minutes to play.
The Falcons responded as Javon Taylor notched a jumper (57-52) before Emmanuel responded with ten points from the free-throw line resulting in the 67-59 final.
