Falcons Earn Pair of MASCAC Weekly Honors

Celli tabbed MASCAC Co-Player of the Week; Wysocki earns MASCAC Goalie of the Week

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Junior forward John Celli was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Co-Player of the Week, while senior Ryan Wysocki earned MASCAC Goaltender of the Week honors as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Celli collects his first weekly honor of the season after totaling four points on three goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. The junior forward registered one marker and one helper in a 3-2 comeback win over Worcester State on Thursday before adding a pair of scores in the Green and Gold's 5-2 victory against Westfield State on Saturday.

Wysocki receives his fourth weekly accolade of the season after posting 68 saves with a .944 save percentage and a 2.00 goals against average in a 2-0 week Fitchburg State. Ryan stopped 41 shots in the Falcons 3-2 win against Worcester State on Thursday evening before adding 27 saves in a 5-2 victory over Westfield State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (10-10-2, 8-6-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it travels to Framingham State for a contest starting at 7:30 p.m.
