Connolly Tabbed NCAA DIII Statistical Champion

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. native earns national accolade

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Senior forward Ryan Connolly was recently crowned the NCAA Division III statistical champion in game winning goals, concluding his senior season by leading the nation among all division three schools with five game winning tallies for the Green and Gold.

This year, Connolly witnessed a breakout season for the Fitchburg State ice hockey squad, ranking second on the squad with 25 points on 13 scores and 12 helpers as well as three power play goals to go along with the five game winners.

Throughout his four-year career, Ryan amassed a total of 90 points on 53 markers and 37 assists as well as ten game winning scores and nine power play tallies in 105 career games for the Falcons.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team concluded the 2015-16 campaign with an overall record of 11-14-2 and a 7-9-2 mark in the MASCAC, en-route to securing the third seed in the 2015-16 MASCACS Ice Hockey post-season tournament.
