Figi Tabbed MASCAC Ice Hockey Player Of The Week

Kloten, Switzerland native earns first weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Sophomore Sascha Figi (Kloten, Switzerland) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The second-year forward eight points on six goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold. Figi posted five points on three markers and two helpers in an 8-1 victory against Westfield State on Thursday before adding his second consecutive hat trick with three goals scored in a 3-2 triumph over Worcester State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (6-3-2, 3-1-2 MASCAC) returns to action following the semester break on Saturday, January 5th as it travels to UMass Dartmouth to take on the Corsairs at 6:00 PM.
