Figi Selected MASCAC Ice Hockey Player Of The Week

Kloten, Switzerland native collects second weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Sophomore Sascha Figi (Kloten, Switzerland) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The second-year forward netted five points on four goals and one assist on the week for the Green and Gold. Figi notched one assist in a 2-1 triumph over Plymouth State on Thursday evening before adding four goals in a 7-5 setback to Wentworth Institute on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (7-56-2, 4-2-2 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it travels to Framingham State to take on the Rams for a contest starting at 7:30 PM.
