Framingham, Mass. – The Fitchburg State ice hockey team defeated the Rams of Framingham State University, 4-1 this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from the Loring Arena.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State opened the scoring at the 12:07 mark of the first period as senior forward Ricky Kramer (Barnstead, N.H.) gathered a feed from freshmen Ryan Murphy (Wayzata, Minn.) and Kyle Klatt (Cloquet, Minn.) and found the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season for the 1-0 advantage.

The Falcons doubled their margin (2-0) 51 seconds later when sophomore forward Kevin Perry (Hull, Mass.) slipped a shot inside the near post for his fourth tally on the year off a feed from senior Brandon Ecklund (Fitchburg, Mass.).

Framingham State cut the deficit to 2-1 with just under six minutes remaining in the second frame as sophomore Matthew Siegel (Syracuse, N.Y.) connected on his fourth marker of the 2018-19 campaign as freshman Bryan Whalen (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and sophomore Brandon Hamner (Waltham, Mass.) assisted on the play.

The Green and Gold secured the victory in the third period, finding the back of the net twice in the span of two and half minutes as junior Christopher Vicario (Cranston, R.I.) netted his fourth goal on the year at the 8:39 mark before senior Connor McPherson (Clovis, Calif.) potted his second tally of the season minutes later, resulting in the 4-1 final.
