Wilmshurst Named MASCAC Ice Hockey Rookie Of The Week

Massena, N.Y. native earns first weekly honor on the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman forward Wyatt Wilmshurst (Massena, N.Y.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first-year Falcon collects his first weekly accolade of the season after registering five points on one goal and four assists in a 1-0-1 week for the Green and Gold. Wilmshurst registered one helper in a 3-3 overtime draw with Salem State on Thursday evening before adding four points on one goal and three assists in a 7-1 triumph against Framingham State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Ice Hockey team (12-7-3, 9-3-3 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it hosts the Owls of Westfield State University for a MASCAC matchup, starting at 7:00 PM.
