Salem, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's ice hockey team dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the Vikings of Salem State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action on Thursday evening at the Rocket Arena.

How It Happened
The Vikings scored the game's first goal at the 5:57 mark of the first frame as junior Erik Larsson (Lake Tahoe, Calif.) scored off a pass from Zach Dill (Lake Tahoe, Calif.).
After a scoreless second period, it took the Falcons only ten ticks into the third period to tie the game with a goal from Antoine Gignac (Quebec City, Que.). The Green and Gold took their first lead of the night when sophomore Michael Macchioni (North Kingstown, RI) found Cole Archambeault (Leominster, Mass.) in the slot for the juniors sixth game of the season.
Salem State battled back and knotted the score with 1:48 remaining in the frame. Larsson fired his second goal of the game with a snap-shot past the Falcons netminder Max Macchioni (North Kingstown, RI).
Vikings junior Keagan O'Donoghue (Frisco, Tx.) ended the game in overtime with a break-a-way goal at 1:24.
