Ice Hockey Named Academic Team of the Year
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State Senior Director of Athletics and Recreation Matthew Burke announced today that the Ice Hockey team has been named the 2022-23 Fitchburg State University Academic Team of the Year.
The team academic award recognizes the squad with the highest collective grade point average (GPA) over the 2022-23 academic year with the Ice Hockey squad ranking number one with a GPA of 3.44 out of the 17 sports sponsored by Fitchburg State University.
Six team members finished with a GPA of 3.8 or higher, while 11 student-athletes had above a 3.6 GPA.
The Falcons open the 2023-24 winter campaign on Saturday, October 28th as they visit the Pilgrims of New England College for a non-conference tilt.
