Ice Hockey Bested by MCLA in Overtime
NORTH ADAMS, MA: Fitchburg State ice hockey fell to the Trailblazers of MCLA in overtime MASCAC action this evening by a score of 2-1.
THE BASICS:

- Score: MCLA 2, Fitchburg 1
- Records: MCLA (3-15-1, 3-6-1 MASCAC), Fitchburg (9-9-1, 5-6-1 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both teams netted goals in the first period. Hunter Dunn (Douglas, MA) struck first for the Falcons on a tip-in after the puck was moved around by Jack Johansen (Milford, NH) and Matteo Orme Lynch (Courbevoie, France). Just a few minutes later, MCLA would knot it back up at 1-1 with a power play goal by Sean Schifferl from Shane Green and Cade Herrera.
- Neither the second nor third period would see any scoring, with both tenders keeping the game at a draw as regulation time ran down.
- The overtime period would only last 30 seconds when the Trailblazers would score the winning goal. This time, it was Green with some help from Herrera and Easton Moore.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Max Macchioni (N. Kingstown, RI) suffered the loss (1-1) after making 34 net saves for Fitchburg.
- Mathew Glover improved to 3-15-1 on the season after turning away 43 shots by the Falcons.
